Pantone, the company whose business is to know everything there is to know about colors, has just unveiled the Color of the Year for 2010: turquoise! Leatrice Eiseman, executive
director of the Pantone Color Institute, says there was no runner-up to turquoise in her mind because people crave escapism and freshness after a tough year. The shade is on the cusp of blue and green, which makes it both inviting and serene — characteristics associated with blues — and invigorating and luminous, which comes from green, she says.
Every year the Stacy Garcia studio forecasts its exciting trends for the year ahead. It typically takes one year after that for the product to take hold in the marketplace. Here is a sneak preview of one of the trends that our studio forecasted for this year: The relaxed, but high-fashion, high-class traveler sets sail on a journey of ocean colors and sun-drenched hues and is witness to shore-side activities and an endless row of cabana stripes. On board, you’ll see ship-shape patterns and beautifully rigged designs that secure the masts and sails.
